Community Advisory Panel - Volunteer expression of interest

The Inner North Community Foundation includes the perspectives of local people in the decision making process about how grants are made. Community Advisory Panels seek to reflect the diversity of our community and allow for social capital to be built with and between local people. Panels have a mix of skills and experience to ensure effective operation.

The Community Advisory Panels operate as a sub-group of the Inner North Community Foundation Grants Committee.  Its role is to provide advice and recommendations to the Foundation board, which is ultimately responsible for all grantmaking and related decisions. Volunteer grants assessors will receive induction and training for their role, which include:

  • Assessing applications received
  • Making recommendations for funding to the Inner North Community Foundation and/or it's partnering organisation's board.
  • Making recommendations and respond to Foundation board re Fund policy and process as required to ensure grants program is best able to achieve its goals.

The Foundation is keen to remove barriers to participation, and will discuss individual requirements around out-of-pocket volunteer expenses associated with transport, childcare, travel etc.

If an opportunity to volunteer is not immediately available, the Foundation can keep your details on file and contact you in the future to invite to a panel in the future.
